This year the Blogathon.org site is back and in full swing. So get your fingers limber bloggers, and pick your charities and get ready to blog for 24 hours on July 25th. You can register on the BLOGATHON 2009 Website on July 1st. This year I will be raising funds for Richmond Animal Protection Agency. Big surprise. I plan to highlight some of the cats and animals that are helped by RAPS. (Although that may or may not be altered depending on time and content I can collect prior to the event.) I hope you can donate to the cause and help me out. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
I have made a personal pledge page to collect donation for RAPS. I hope to raise money for the charity through this blog. I have all ready donated (to fund-raising page) and I donate $25 monthly (separately from my fund-raising page). You can set up monthly donations through CanadaHelps or do a one time gift. You can always pick one specific cat at the shelter to sponsor as well, there is a sponsor program. Every bit helps. Some folks have all ready donated (thank you) and my donations page will go on - even after the Blogathon - so please donate when you can, if you can and I thank you so so much. I will keep track of what I raised specifically during the Blogathon and post the numbers when I am done. In the meantime you can follow Blogathon 2009 on Twitter too. I first got introduced to the idea of Blogathon by my long time net (and real life) friend Trace Beagley. So 2006 I joined up and raised some money for the WWF however in 2007 the Blogathon took place while I was preparing to move, so I missed it. Last year the official Blogathon didn't take place, however a lot of smaller groups put on their own mini-Blogathons, including one in Vancouver started by local blogger diva Miss604. I was disappointed with the outcome of the fund-raising last year. Yet, I am thrilled that the original Blogathon is back on this year, and can't wait to blog for RAPS.
